- It's
official. The South Carolina Election Commission has confirmed
that all campaign documents, registrations, and certifications were
complete and validated by noon, April 9th, the official cut-off
deadline. Jimmy Wood will be on the November ballot!
I heard the voice of the Lord,
saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said,
“Here am I, Lord! Send me.”

 This scripture was written into the
cover of the journal that I carried with me everywhere I went when I
was in Iraq. My oldest brother gave it to me the day I left home so
that I could document the events of each day, each mission, while I
was there. Time and time again, this verse has played an important
role in my life and when I question whether or not I should do or
pursue something, it always seems to be there – in my heart, in my
subconscious, in my soul. As I could feel God working in my life to
make this decision to pursue appointment to elected office, once
again, the scripture says it all. My friends, we are faced with
what I believe to be, the most critical election cycle of our
lives. Our nation’s economy is weakening on the global market while
our internal unemployment and national debt skyrockets. Nations
around the world on which we have relied so long, are conducting
meetings on the discontinuation of accepting the American Dollar for
oil transactions. We, as a people, have been brainwashed and fooled
into believing that a bigger, more powerful government will save us
from our problems while they chip away at our freedoms in the name
of security. Our present government operates behind closed doors,
intentionally evading the public eye, all the while enriching
themselves and special interest groups with the spoils of government
plunder. The double edge to this sword is that with increased, out
of control government, comes decreased liberty. We are on the brink
of a total destruction to our Constitution; Americans have lost
faith in their elected leaders; Presidential and Congressional
approval ratings are at record lows – all the while as they continue
to vote themselves salary raises from your taxes while
simultaneously decreasing the services and benefits offered to our nation’s veterans. Good people of the Low Country, the time is now
for hard working, tax-paying, Christian Americans to unite and take
this country back. I have been told that I cannot influence this
process, that it’s too big, too out-of-control and that if any level
of politics is to be in my future, then I have to start local. Well
I disagree. Join me, won’t you, as we go forward together to take
this country back. We must stand now, stand united, and never
accept again, the term “silent majority.”
